Fairbairn Set to Take Over Muse

As the weekend draws near, it’s time to think about what to do. You honestly can’t go wrong coming into the city and hitting up any of our major clubs. But there is a party going down in Chinatown that deserves some attention. DJ Robert Fairbairn is spinning a set at Muse Nightclub for the first time ever. It will be one of his first sets in DC that is not directly tied to last summer’s Nocturnal Vibe pool parties. In other words, Rob has gone off to places like Tampa, dropped some seriously sick sets on fans, built up his style and is now bringing it back to DC. And with some hard work from his label Nocturnal Vibe, we’ll be seeing Rob a whole lot more in the DC nightlife scene.

Rob got his start in music because his parents enjoyed listening to classical around the house. Fascinated by what he was hearing, Rob asked for violin lessons and took his love of music from there. His musical interests now spans classical to the depths of Dnb. His passion for electronic was kick-started by a chance meeting with Scott Henry and attending assorted shows at Nation Nightclub. His style is heavily influenced by trance but also the complex rhythms of progressive house. If I could point to one global DJ that Rob is most similar to, I’d say Gareth Emery. The guy just knows how to blend beats and finds songs with a perfect chorus to match the energy found on the dance floor. Think of Rob as the symphony director of the DJ booth. He’s precise, refined and professional…quite literally about to make it big. It’s his dedication and perfectionist attitude that will carry Fairbairn beyond the local DJ gig and right into the hearts of global dance music fans. Get ready DC, this party is going to be insane!!!
