Urban Marinade

So the above photo isn’t really one of my best shots at night. Hell, it’s just another building in DC. And it’s the view I see every day from my balcony. But over the past two weeks, I decided it was time to invest some real money on my photography and the gear I work with. And so the above images is a reflection of that investment. The shot was taken using my new Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 lens. I took the handheld shot with an ISO of 800 and a shutter of 1/4.

I’ve taken plenty of photos using the tripod at night. If the above image is a reflection of what I can do with this lens and image sensor without a tripod, I’m pretty stoked.
